Realities of Freelance Translating/Interpreting

Working as a freelance translator or interpreter can be relaxing, liberating and lucractive.

But not if you work with an agency that rips you off.

There are thousands and thousands of agencies around the world that allocate assignments to freelance translators who are also located around the world. The Internet has made it possible for those of us who choose to work from home to do so. However, it has also enabled fraudulent practices.

If you think that you will not be fooled, think again.

This blog will list agencies and individuals who belong in the Hall of Shame of the translating industry. It will serve to warn freelance translators from taking work from these businesses. The goal is to eliminate--or to decrease as much as possible--the shoddy business practices of untoward agencies so that all of us can be fairly compensated.

Feel free to email me with your frustrating stories!
